Greater Pewee Contopus pertinax and Buff-breasted Flycatcher Empidonax fluvifrons.
The trek up to the upper reaches of Carr Canyon was worthwhile. We were treated to excellent views of these two higher elevation flycatchers. Although we only saw the one Greater Pewee, Buff-breasted Flycatchers were especially obvious once we reached Ramsey Vista Campground. We must have seen or heard about ten individuals which were very vocal and easy to find.
