Another productive morning down at Northampton’s East Meadows but I did
rather better at seeing birds than photographing them. However, a
lovely male Dickcissel showed well for some minutes in the corn and an early Lapland Longspur was another notable.It was cold and foggy to start with but materilaized into a beautfiul fall day.

Northern Harrier - 3 juveniles.
American Kestrel - 1
Merlin - 1
Tree Swallow - 45+.

Northern Mockingbird - 1
Horned Lark - 1
American Pipit - 10
Yellow-rumped Warbler - 85+.
Western Palm Warbler - 1
Eastern Palm Warbler - 6
Blackpoll Warbler - 2
Bay-breasted Warbler - 1
Common Yellowthroat - 6
House Wren - 1 (Red Barn).
DICKCISSEL - 1, presumed male, showing plenty of yellow on the face and breast and rufous lesser coverts. Excellent views.

Savannah Sparrow - 100+
Lincoln’s Sparrow - 13
Swamp Sparrow - 8
Field Sparrow - 1
Vesper Sparrow - 1
White-throated Sparrow - 3

LAPLAND LONGPSUR -
1 calling bird flew in from the north at 10:08 hrs circling me twice,
and then north towards the Red Barn. May have landed in the large
fileds around the Red Barn.
Bobolink - 35
Alos several Tufted Titmice and Black-capped Chickadees in the hedgerows between the fields. Zero shorebirds this morning.
