July 20th, 2005. Norwottuck Rail Trail, Amherst, MA. Eastern Towhee Pipilo erythrophthalmus (juvenile).
| Typically found right under a power line cut (close to the 2 mile post
on the bike trail). A couple of adults were also close by but this
rufous juvenile was slightly more challenging to identify.
