other adult at Turner's Falls (Barton Cove) seen with a Common Tern
from the Rod and Gun Club on the south side of the Connecticut River.

NB.
The birds in Northampton and Turner's Falls could, if accepted, could
be the third and fourth records for Western Massachusetts.
Only two others documented reports exist:
Oct 27, 1942 in Holyoke
Nov 9, 1997 at Lake Onota near Pittsfield.

All the more remarkable, birders visting
the Oxbow Marina reported 8 birds at dusk on October 12th, composed of six adults and
two first-winters. One more adult was seen at the Quabbin on October
12th to go with all of the above!

*Latest*- October 13th. At least seven adult Black-legged Kittiwakes
present at the Oxbow Marina, Northampton during the mid-morning
indicating the arrival of yet another adult. A first-winter bird
was reported in the early morning but had moved on by 10am. A single adult Black-legged Kittiwake was also present at South Quabbin at about 8am.
