October 26th, 2005. Charlotte Town Beach, Lake Champlain, VT.
| Black-tailed Gull Larus crassirostris. Adult winter. ABA Code (4).
| Not
to be deterred, Mark Taylor and friends endured six inches of snow,
gale force winds and a winter weather advisory to get these views and
images of the Black-tailed Gull in Vermont.
It was ‘hunkered’ down alone on a grass lawn just north of Charlotte
town beach, with the beach itself apparently being swamped by waves.
Sounds like a tough but rewarding day.
