Abbott was already at Charlotte Town Beach when we arrived at 08:45 am.
During the course of the morning he obtained some excellent video
footage of the Black-tailed Gull, and even managed to sound recorded its call on his video camera!
From Charlotte, Denny teamed up with us on a trip down to Dead Creek WMA which produced a Ross’s Goose amongst thousands of Snow Geese. We followed that with a stop at Richmond to scan through hundreds of Canada Geese for a previously reported Barnacle Goose which we didn’t find. However, our patience paid off and we eventually found a Richardson’s Cackling Goose
in a corn stubble field just west of Richmond. It had been yet another
great day of birding in and around the Champlain Valley in Vermont.
