October 27th, 2005. Hatfield/Whately, MA.
Pectoral Sandpiper Calidris melanotos.
Just called in to check the flooded fields on the Hatfiled/Whately townline in late afternoon. Still a few shorebirds present with about 50 Killdeer, 1 Pectoral Sandpiper and 1 Least Sandpiper. Also of interest, a fairly broad stream of c.600 American Crows migrating south high over the fields.

3 Hermit Thrushes were on the Norwottuck rail trail in Amherst.
Images taken with Canon Powershot A-95 through Swarovski telescope.
