Ruddy Ducks Oxyura jamaicensis, and
Ring-necked Ducks
Aythya collaris.

Checked a couple of local reservoirs today. The south end of the Quabbin was very blustery with a bitingly cold northern wind, but Ludlow Reservoir offered a bit more shelter, and a few more birds.

South Quabbin, HQ area.
Common Loon - 1
American Kestrel - 1
Lapland Longspur - 1 (on the dam wall).

Common Loon - 1
Great Cormorant - 1 (both of the cormorants circled together, and looked as though they were landing but I couldn’t find them later).
Double-crested Cormorant - 1
Canada Goose - 95
Ruddy Duck - 69
Ring-necked Duck - 7
Common Meganser - 4
