February 5th, 2007. Unity Park, Barton Cove, Franklin County, MA. Lesser Black-backed Gulls Larus fuscus graellsii/intermedius. Second cycle (3). It was worth braving the tough conditions this afternoon, with a small flock of gulls off Unity Park containing no less than three Lesser Black-backed Gulls, all of similar age. These were possibly the best views that I've had of this species locally. Quite remarkable that all apear to be second cycle birds, though I'd be happy to be corrected on the age of any of these birds.
