(Hudsonian) Whimbrels. Numenius phaeopus hudsonicus. (5). Two juveniles shown.
Spent the morning on the Cape Ann Whale Watch out of Gloucester with Susannah Lerman and Brian Kane. Pelagic birds were very few indeed but we had some shorebirds migrating over the ocean with 5 Whimbrel and 4 Red-necked Phalaropes being the highlights. We also had outstanding and prolonged looks at Humpback and Minke Whales.
