Well over 1,000 waterbirds were resting and feeding in Barton Cove this evening in contrast to the power canal which was extremely quiet with just 3 Buffleheads and a handful of Canada Geese.    Redheads - the two immature birds still present on Barton Cove feeding off Riverview Drive. The birds were a little distant this evening and better quality pics from the 26th can be seen here.   Red-breasted Merganser - female/immature. Remained alone and distant feeding out in the main channel at Barton Cove.   Blue-winged Teal - the blue forewing is just visible in both of these shots. Initially close to Riverview Drive on Barton Cove.  Lesser Scaup - fem/imm on Barton Cove.  Buffleheads - three on the power canal at Turner's Falls. |
