December 28th 2006.  Macmillan Wharf, Provincetown Harbor, MA.
Thayer's Gull. Larus thayeri. Juvenile/first-winter. Flight images.

Juvenile/first-winter Thayer's Gull discovered and thoroughly documented by Tom Johnson,
Justin and Devin Bosler, Edward J. Raynor and Cameron Rutt on December 21st. The
conditions at Macmillan Wharf offered a perfect opportunity for close and prolonged views of this
difficult to identify species. These images were taken over a period of three hours in a variety
of lighting conditions. More on the identification to follow......

All of these flight images were taken with a digital camera through binoculars.
