Horned Grebe Podiceps auritus.
Probably my last local outing for a month but certainly a nice one. This Horned Grebe was close into shore just below the pinic tables at Hank's Meadow. This and two Black Ducks were the only birds on the water there, with about 5 Common Loons scattered elsewhere on the reservoir. Getting chilly with temperatures in the low forties....
