June 8th, Mizpah Spring area, White Mountains, NH.

Yellow-bellied Flycatcher Empidonax flaviventris.
This bird was identified by song but was surprisingly pale on the belly.
Note the extensively orange lower mandible. The spruce-fir habitat around Mizpah Hut
supported good numbers of these flycatchers which sang throughout the day.
The only
Empidonax flycatcher of the day to be found at this elevation (above 3,000 feet).
