June 19th, 2005. New Hampshire Coast
Susannah and I had a very good morning on the New Hampshire coast beginning with a
Black-crowned Night Heron that flew over Rt 101 just as we entered the Hampton saltmarshes.
The ‘hoped for’ King Rail eventually appeared behind Little Jack’s in Hampton whilst we were
in the company of Davis Finch, Denny Abbot and others. We finished off with a short seawatching
session from Ragged Neck which produced good numbers of Wilson’s Storm Petrels.

The big surprise of the day was the actual numbers of Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrows
behind Little Jack’s Restaurant which were constantly in view during the whole two hours
whilst we were there. All of them, however, eluded my camera!
