Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrow, Ammodramus caudacutus.

These images were taken at a saltmarsh where Nelson’s Sharp-tailed Sparrow Ammodramus nelsoni
is also present, one of the few areas in the US where both species can be found breeding alongside each other.

Note the well defined and distinct blackish breast streaking.

NB. rather long billed appearance.

NB. Very white throat.                                                NB. White throat and well streaked flanks.

This bird looked rather more buff on the breast than many of the Saltmarsh sp. at
Chapman's Landing, but still showed well defined breast streaking and a whitish throat.
