May 25th, 2005, Surry Mountain Lake and Keene area.
Continued unsettled weather bringing cold north-easterly winds and rain covers much of New England.
I tried the Surry area this morning finding three Common Loons on the lake and a Greater Yellowlegs.
Blackpoll Warbler and White-throated Sparrow could be heard singing here as well. Just north of Surry village
I found a few warblers including a nice male Canada and a couple of Magnolia Warblers,
as well as Least and Willow Flycatchers.

Common Loons Gavia immer
One of the loons was an extremely pale first-summer bird, while the
other two were adults in full breeding plumage.
