The consensus amongst experts, including Britain's Keith Vinicombe, was strongly in favor of this bird
being of the nominate limosa from Continental Europe which winters in West Africa.
Phil Brown, the finder, put together a wonderful web page documenting this extremely well
observed and photographed bird which will become the 4th state record if accepted.

First found and documented by Phil Brown on July 17th. Showing incredibly well
to a small crowd of admirers on Sunday afternoon. Certainly worth the return visit after
the less than satisfactory views that we had on July 18th. Also, two Hudsonian Godwits
in full breeding plumage were present off Joppa Park in Newburyport.
