September 10th, 2005. Off Monterey, California.
| Flesh-footed Shearwater Puffinus carneipus ABA Code (3).
| Really
poor quality shots I know, but it wasn't easy taking these images in a very
heavy swell with folks being sea-sick all around us and the excitement
of a life bird! The masses of Sooty Shearwaters really made these
tricky to pick out but I noted two or possibly three Flesh-foots during
the day, all of which were called by the leaders on the boat. A really
beautiful chocolate-brown shearwater and a rare but regular highlight of the Moneterey pelagics.
