The first images from what I can only describe as an awesome tour of Alaska with Birdfinders during June 15th - 30th. Our itinerary included the Anchorage area, Seward, the George Parks Highway, Denali NP and Cantwell, the Denali, Richardson and Glenn Highways, three nights in Nome and two nights on St.Paul Island in the Pribilofs. More images and a detailed summary will appear soon.

Townsend's Solitaire - displaying male over the Alpenglow ski area, Arctic Valley, near Eagle River, June 15th.
Apparently quite rare and difficult to find in Alaska. We also saw a displaying bird at
Polychrome Mountain in Denali National Park.

Arctic Warbler. Denali Highway, AK. June 21st. A common passerine along this stunningly scenic highway.
Smith's Longspur - Male, East Denali Highway, AK. We were treated to three pairs East of Tangle River.
Bluethroat - near Nome, AK. June 25th.

Long-tailed Jaeger - near Nome, AK. June 25th. One bird from a feeding flock of about 30 birds hawking
for flying insects over the Council Road.
