February 7th 2006. Enfield, CT.
Pink-footed Goose Anser brachyrynchus.(2). *Origin unknown.
These two birds gave excellent close-up views this morning. I was one of a steady stream of birders passing through the Barnes boat ramp on the East side of the Connecticut River in Enfield, CT. The birds were with the closest group of Canada Geese immediately in front of the boat ramp for much of the middle part of the morning. As far as I know, they have been present since from Saturday February 4th, when they first appeared on the Connecticut RBA. A short summary of the only accepted record for Connecticut can be seen here.
