Kumlien's Iceland Gull Larus glaucoides kumlieni.


 Four images of the same individual taken against different backgrounds. Larger than most of the kumlieni
present with a different shape being rather 'longer' in most respects (head, bill, body and wings). Also shows
quite coarse patterning on the scapulars and coverts, seemingly at odds with most of the kumlieni present.
Possible hybrid?


 *Update January 2005:  Having seen considerbale variation in  kumlieni over the winter, and having
discussed this bird with Martin Garner, our impression is that this is perhaps just an odd looking, darkish kumlieni.
